Happy 2nd Anniversary to my Son

Giving Thanks Challenge
Day 8
Dedicated to my Son

You see, yesterday my son celebrated 2 years clean and sober! And for that, this momma stands tall and proud as she whispers praises to the sun above ... Thank you, God!

I share with you a poetic creation, first posted in August of 2009 ... and now, my son's "spray o' tomorrows beckon forevermore" ... One day at a time!

William…
I pray that whatever in life you seek you shall find
I pray that wherever you go, whatever you do,
That you'll never doubt that you are always on my mind
And you'll never forget that your mother loves you.
…Mom

  5. Christina, that is our William on that surfboard in the photo...smiles.

Liz, thank you! Sobriety is a hard task, indeed, and he should most certainly be proud of each day of his sobriety.

  6. A wonderful tribute to your son and his accomplishment. I'm sure that it hasn't been easy for either of you. No wonder you're so proud of him.

  7. You are right on, Vee, it has definitely not been an easy road for either of us. I've always been proud of him, for so many things, but this is extra special, a breath of life to be thankful for.

    Thank you, Vee.

  8. What a beautiful poem Ruthi! Congrats to your son! I have 3 children that I am proud of for their different accomplishments. (and believe me they are all VERY different!) Being a mom anytime isn't easy but especially when you have certain situations going on it can be very tough; good for BOTH of you for making it through the rough spots!

  9. Thank you, Mary! For sure it isn't easy to be a mother, but I guess it isn't easy to be a mother's child, either, ha!
