Happy Halloween Wordless Wednesday

It is the day after a happy Halloween. (2017) I shared this fright night at work and at play with friends.

Now on a not-so-Wordless Wednesday I share a few images captured for you ... BOO!

Happy Halloween 2017 Roman's Pizza

We three kitchen witches were having a wee bit of fun making devilishly delicious pizzas and subs for our guests.

But of course, there was a friendly fellow in our midst too. I guess it would be unkind of me not to share a picture including him too, though I must say he is undeserving of the inclusion as he did not even bother to dress for the occasion. Oh, look, he's rather ghoulish naturally!

I was scheduled out the work door first and was happy to get home in time to enjoy some of the youngsters begging trick-or-treat. But first, I had to get into my own costume and walk my dog Valentino.

While Valentino would have nothing to do with dressing up for the night, I love my costume. I designed it as part of my own fall wardrobe. And you can bet I will wear my Witchy Woman Sweatshirt and purple leggings throughout fall and winter.

My dog Valentino had the bejabbers scared out of him on Halloween night! When this hairy spider jumped up in the air so did Valentino! I cannot tell a lie ... So did I!

Did you manage to have a wee bit of fun for Halloween in 2017? Or any other year? Do tell!

Front Porch Intruder Alert

Hearing my dog wildly barking I peeked out the window, wondering who or what I might see.

Intruder Alert: Squirrel Huddled In A Corner
A cat went running across the porch, down the front steps, and on down the street. Yes, that cat went scat when he heard my dog Valentino. My dog has little tolerance for the many stray cats in the neighborhood.

I leashed my boy up, opened the front door, and what did I see? In the corner crouched a small squirrel, apparently hiding behind the broom on the porch. Thankfully, my dog has little interest in squirrels, this one included. Actually, he was too busy trying to find that cat!

Nonetheless, I took the dog for a walk and upon our return the squirrel was gone. No more squirrel, no more cat, dog has taken care of business... Now I can return to my computer work and play for the day!

When it comes to "his front porch" my dog Valentino is the best intruder alert system around. However, it does not hurt to have a security camera system in place too, for when my dog and I are out and about.

No Bite White Spider Lily Flower

Have no fear, no spider bites in store for you here! These sparkling white beauties are the Spider Lily flowers found growing here in the Florida Panhandle sand and sunshine.

White Spider Lily Flowers

Naturally, I felt the pristine lily white spider worthy of a postcard cover in my Zazzle store.

But of course, you can grow the Spider Lily (also commonly called Peruvian Daffodil) in your garden, indoors or out! This lily is an easy to care for flowering plant.

Seeing Red Florida Flower Power

A mid-morning walk with my dog here in the Florida Panhandle had me seeing red, mostly wild flowers growing out of the sandy scrub soil amid forest greenery.

Red is a powerful color that evokes a variety of strong emotions. Of late, I find myself in a mindset that welcomes the intensity of red flower power. My feelings run the gamut from excitement to agitation and on to the ever-present power of love.

Click the pictures for a larger bright red view.

As you can see, even my dog Valentino enjoyed the adventurous hunt for red flowers. He sniffed for bunny rabbits in the bushes as he rushed me from one natural display of red to the next. Naturally, we had to stop to admire the red beauty of the Bottlebrush Tree and its determined spirit.

A lovingly tended floral display in a neighboring front yard produced a brilliant red rose. But of course, that led us to the power of love!

What do you feel when you see red?

Christmas Kitchen

With Christmas but a week away I have decided I better get my decorating done today. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here, even in the kitchen. It is my plan to get all things seasonal done before the day is done, Ha!

Living in the Sunshine State of Florida does make for a bit of a difference in the decorations. Since this is our first Christmas here we decided to add a palm tree for the occasion and I could think of no better tree topper than my Baby Squid from my pal Wednesday Elf at Coastal Crochet Crafts.

Now, I must admit I am not the Kitchen Queen, so for a bit of my kitchen fun you might enjoy reading about me whipping up a bit of Zabaglione for the first time: Yes, I stepped out of my comfort zone and into the kitchen and I had a jolly good time!

So this was supposed to be a Wordless Wednesday post, but I see I have been a bit wordy as usual, but that's alright, I'm still linking up with Abracabadra for the blog hop!

Soak Up Sunshine

She let me know she was ready to go for an afternoon stroll so I quickly set my computer to defrag, figuring it could use a clean-up while not in use. Always multi-tasking!

I opened the front door and out we went, my dog Tidbit and I. She sniffed her way to the edge of the front lawn, stopped for a wee tinkle, then pulled me across the street in a frenzy.

To my surprise, Plop! she went to the ground, situating herself just as happy as could be--to just be soaking up a bit o' sunshine!

I snapped a few pictures of her and a few of the trees in the wood-fenced vacant lot. I headed back across the street to the house, glanced around, and sure enough she was quick to follow.

I guess my old girl just needed her daily dose of Vitamin D!

Illumination in Haiku

My pal Susan enlightened me on the Wordless Wednesday blog hop hosted by Abracabadra so I decided to begin hopping along. Illumination is my first image offering; although, I could not resist the addition of words in Haiku.
